Susan Battani is the Principal at Christ the King School. She is passionate about providing a faith-based education that encompasses the children's spiritual, academic, and emotional growth. She comes to CKS after being the assistant principal for three years at Sacred Heart in West Des Moines. She has her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa with reading and language arts endorsements. Mrs.Battani earned her M.S. in Educational Leadership and Catholic School Leadership Certificate from Creighton University. Previously, she taught 1st grade in the West Des Moines school district, preschool in a private preschool, and Kindergarten at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic School in Ankeny.
Mrs. Battani grew up in Ankeny but now lives in Urbandale with her husband, Jason. They have three children: Jessica (married to Will), Emily (choir teacher in Ankeny), and Kyle (attends Drake). They also have a dog, Cody. Mrs. Battani spends most of her spare time with my family. She loves to take walks, bake, and be outside. She belongs to St. Mary of Nazareth Parish and is very involved there as well.
Mrs. Battani looks forward to building on the solid community and reputation for excellence that Christ the King has established.
