My name is Marie Stewart. I'm very excited to join Christ the King School as the STEM teacher in 2022.I am originally from Toledo, Ohio, where I attended Notre Dame Academy for high school and earned a degree in education from Bowling Green. I began my teaching career in 2010, working as an Art Teacher and also teaching Computer Science, Science and Life Skills classes at schools in Austin, TX and Fort Worth TX. In 2017, I was blessed with the honor of the Teacher of the Year award at my school in Fort Worth.In 2018, I started my own online teaching business, developing original curriculum and instructing over 6,000 students online while integrating core subject material into Art & ESL lessons. This opportunity gave me the chance to meet learners and their families from every continent, many of whom I still teach on weekends.
I also love tech & games! In 2021, my husband and I produced over 150 YouTube videos visiting popular attractions and playing games at locations throughout the Great Lakes region.We are new to Des Moines and when not working love to go on adventures with our two elderly dachshunds, Jack & Peanut. We decided to relocate to Iowa thanks to the excellent cost of living and friendly people. I look forward to meeting all of you! See you in the classroom!
