Ms. Nelsen – Second Grade
My name is Nicki Nelsen. I graduated from Dowling Catholic in 2001 and from what is now Grand View University in 2005 with a degree in elementary education. I also have endorsements in K-6 Reading, K-6 Language Arts, and an Early Childhood endorsement.
In the years that I have been at Christ the King, I have participated in professional development in the areas of reading, math, and differentiated instruction to learn new strategies to use in the classroom.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to movies, camping, and reading.
I chose to teach in the Catholic schools because I have never thought of teaching anywhere else. I feel that it is very important to be able to share my faith experiences with my students and to be able to use our faith to shape the lives of young people. Becky Johnson – Fourth Grade
I have been the fourth grade teacher at Christ the King Catholic School since the fall of 2015. It is my privilege and honor to be a member of the CKS learning community. Many exciting changes are taking place in education with regard to technology and academics but one thing will always remain constant, our commitment to the spiritual growth of every child who enters our building.
I hold a master’s degree in education from Iowa State University. I have a Standard Teaching License from the State of Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. I could be a teacher anywhere but I choose Christ the King Catholic School because I want to educate the WHOLE child. I want to be able to share my faith with the children and help them grow in their faith as well. Visit my Classroom. | firstname.lastname@example.org
Jamie Bellcock – Fifth Grade
My name is Jamie Bellcock. I am the 5th grade at Christ the King School. I graduated from Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a Reading Endorsement. I also attended a small K-8 Catholic school in Northwest Iowa that reminds me a lot of Christ the King Catholic School. I thank God every day for giving me the opportunity to teach in a Catholic School, so I not only can teach the students the basics of reading, writing, social studies, and science, but that I also can share my strong faith in God with the students. I hope that by sharing my beliefs and values with the students that they will in return grow in their faith in God and make the right choices in life as well. | Visit my classroom. | email@example.com
