Having a theme makes our acts of service, which are a critical component of our school identity, more cohesive.
In addition, Christ the King School is affectionately known as one of the Mercy schools in the Des Moines metro. It's a part of our heritage!
Each month, one grade level will sign up for a service project corresponding to the Corporal Work of Mercy associated with that month.
The service project will consist of the following:
An out of uniform day will be held once a month (typically the last Friday of the month that school is in session). A $1 donation is required to be out of uniform on the designated day. 100% of the proceeds from the Work of Mercy Out of Uniform days are donated to an agency that serves individuals affected by the Work of Mercy of the month.
Watch for more information about the out of uniform days, when, and how to donate via Class Dojo!
As specific service projects are announced each month, you will be able to find more details below, on Class Dojo, and the CKS Facebook page.
